Brainerd Minnesota location fishing report and ice problem inform.
Region ice circumstances are beginning getting much better but there is however nonetheless some sketchy ice. With that said, if you can discover great ice, you'll find a great bite!
Following the xmas holiday, I finally got out to check up on a few areas and discovered some decent ice. But when there is standing snow, beware! I discovered ice ranging from 2 ins to 4 1/2 into the snowfall cover with many slush. Most areas without snowfall had been from 5-7 1/2 inches. Be safe in the event that you move out.
On Monday, we headed from a pond exploring mission searching for panfish and contains good quality success on whitefish chain despite the northeast winds. We found some good crappies suspended at 20-28 foot in 37 base basin opening. Due to the frontal conditions, the seafood were quite spooky therefore we had to be quite cellular. Despite the fact that, we still caught around 50 crappies in a couple of hours including fish up to 13 ins most abundant in dominate year course becoming when you look at the 10 1/2 inch range.
On Tuesday it was off to a unique lake looking for a blended bag of crappies and bluegills. It took about an hour or so of drilling and searching before we discovered all of them then another 20 mins to narrow in in it. We discovered the seafood on a 14-15 foot mud based feeding level hunkered down on the bottom.
Ultimately, 3 anglers caught around 100 fish from 10 to noon. The front conditions were still hampering the bite therefore we must downsize and the best appeal had been an orange/chartreuse horizontal plastic on a #10 jig head.
Fishermen are starting to escape on a number of the larger ponds. If you go out using one please be careful. We'ven't had that cool of weather condition yet. It's easy for a large human body of water to eat ice fast from the bottom due to the ponds continuing to show over before colder liquid is is more consistent through the water line. Health and safety first!!!
